When you’re alone, try not to overlook the fact that you have yourself. Too often we completely ignore our own presence in our lives. Be someone you can be proud of. Be someone you can count on. Be that person to lift yourself up, not drag yourself into an abyss of negative thoughts and energy. We all need to treat ourselves the way we expect to be treated by others and the way we should treat others as well. Have some compassion with yourself. Perfection is unattainable; remind yourself of that often. Make stupid decisions, and then learn and grow from them. Cry when you’re sad and then promise yourself to move on. You are your mind, so make it a healthy, loving one.
